Relatives of missing persons under special circumstances have the right to a deferral from mobilization. Previously, to confirm their right, relatives had to go to court and wait for a decision on recognizing the person as missing under special circumstances. Now it has become easier to get a deferral. What exactly has changed – lawyers of the BPD system tell us.
Who is entitled to a deferral?
- people whose close relatives (husband, wife, children, parents, brothers, sisters) went missing during the defense of Ukraine and the operation of martial law
- guardians or parents of children under 18 years of age if one of the parents is missing.
What has changed?
Previously, to obtain a postponement, relatives had to go to court and wait for a decision to declare the person missing under special circumstances.
From now on, to obtain a deferral, only an extract from the Unified Register of Missing Persons is required.
How to get an extract
Send the following documents to the Office for Persons Missing in Special Circumstances:
- request for an extract (in any form)
- copy of passport
- copies of documents confirming family ties with the person in question.
