A frosty sunny day contributed to the holding of a hockey tournament in the village of Kamyana Yaruga in honor of the Ukrainian defender Ruslan Malyavina, who died on December 9, 2022.
Ruslan's father, Mykola Oleksiyovych, initiated a hockey tournament in honor of his son in 2023. And now, for the second time, Ruslan's relatives, brothers, and friends are gathering at the pond not just to play hockey, but also to remember their son, husband, father, brother, friend, and brother. To remember someone who loved sports and hockey, someone who was the organizer of many sports competitions, someone who loved Ukraine very much and stood up for its defense on the first day of the war.
Four teams competed for the Ruslan Malyavin Cup. According to the results of the competition, the transitional cup for 1st place went to «Skyfi». Second place went to «Molodezhka» (s. K. Yaruga), 3rd place went to «Veterans» (s. K. Yaruga), 4th place to «Alliance». It was nice to see among the players the most experienced hockey players, who are already over 70 years old, but they held their own confidently on the ice. These are Mykola Oleksiyovych Malyavin, Yuriy Grigorovich Stepanenko, Mykola Oleksiyovych Vorobyov.
After the hockey tournament, those present were treated to delicious kulesh. Friends shared memories of Ruslan. The memory of heroes is alive as long as we remember them. We thank Ruslan's family for organizing the sporting event. We thank the Hero's parents, the Defender's brothers, for reminding us of the exploits of those thanks to whom we still live peacefully, breathe freely and can play hockey. So we preserve the memory of Ruslan, the memory of each and every one who died for a free, independent Ukraine, who gave their life for the life of another. Glory to the Heroes of Ukraine.
