Mykola Viktorovych Lavryk decided to continue his education and entered the correspondence department of the Chuguyevo-Babchansky Forestry College, which he successfully graduated with a degree in mechanics. He independently mastered the profession of a welder to implement his own project - a greenhouse in which the family grew seedlings and vegetables.

He was an avid mushroom picker, and also loved to please his family with delicious dishes in his free time, which was always lacking, because he had a talent for cooking (even his brothers remember "...the dishes prepared by Mykola gave a little bit of home warmth during wartime...").
