Dear community! Dear fellow countrymen!
Today, February 20, Ukraine commemorates the Day of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred. We bow our heads to the memory of those who twelve years ago were the first to take up the fight for our freedom, dignity, and European choice on the barricades of Maidan.
This year we mark this date in a special context. It has been four years since the start of the full-scale invasion and twelve years since Russia began its armed aggression against our state. The feat of the Heavenly Hundred became the foundation of our modern resistance. It was then, in February 2014, that the invincible army was born, which today holds the front against the enemy.
The heroes of the Heavenly Hundred are the first volunteers of the great war for independence, who showed that freedom is worth fighting for even at the cost of one's own life. Today, their work is continued by our defenders in the trenches, volunteers in the rear, and each of you who hold your front in our community.
We have no right to retreat. Our duty to those who fell on the Maidan and on the fields of full-scale war is to stand firm and win, building the Ukraine they dreamed of.
I urge everyone today to remember the Heroes with a moment of silence, light a candle in memory, or join the "Angels of Memory" campaign. May their courage give us strength in this crucial time.
We remember. We fight. We will prevail.
Glory to all the defenders of Ukraine!
