Address by Galina Minaeva on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day

Dear community residents! Dear donors!

Every year on June 14, the world celebrates World Blood Donor Day — a day of people with big hearts who selflessly share their warmth and vitality for the sake of saving others.

Today, in the conditions of a full-scale war and fierce fighting on the territory of Ukraine, blood donation has acquired a completely new, strategic importance. Blood is the same weapon and a critically important resource as ammunition or cartridges. Every donation in the rear is a direct contribution to our defense capability and Victory.

Today, your blood saves the lives of those who hold the front and those who have fallen victim to enemy aggression in the rear, it brings our wounded soldiers back from the brink of death on the front lines and in hospitals, it gives a chance for life to civilians who have suffered from daily insidious shelling and rocket strikes, it helps doctors conduct extremely complex emergency operations in front-line regions.

Being a donor in times of war is a special expression of patriotism and high civic courage. You share a piece of yourself, becoming a reliable and invisible rear for our defenders and a lifeline for thousands of Ukrainians.

I sincerely thank every resident of the Chuguiv community who regularly joins the donor movement, despite all the challenges and dangers of today. Your concern is inspiring and inspiring.

I wish you, dear donors, good health, inexhaustible strength, peaceful skies, and confidence in tomorrow. May your kindness return to you a hundredfold, and every drop of blood you donate bring us closer to peace!

Happy holiday! Thank you for every life saved!

Sincerely, Head of the Chuguiv City Military Administration Galina MINAYEVA
