«"Grow": selection of participants in the training program for women entrepreneurs in crop production

Б-01

The non-governmental organization "Plato" invites women whose professional or entrepreneurial activities are related to crop production to participate in the "Grow" training program. The program is designed to help participants develop unique resource management skills to mitigate the risks associated with climate change.

Climate change dictates new rules for business in the field of crop production, while the future of a successful business depends on the ability to respond to challenges. Droughts, pests, temperature records, which were atypical a few years ago, now directly affect vegetation and harvest. How to successfully develop your own business without neglecting care for the environment? The «Grow» program offers to form a sustainable strategy that will allow you to adapt to the challenges of climate change and turn risks into new opportunities for your own business.

For whom?

Participation in the program is open to women who have already connected their lives with plant breeding or are just planning to do so. We invite agronomists, farmers, landscape designers, flower growers, gardeners, breeders, agrobloggers and representatives of other fields of activity compatible with plant breeding, regardless of age and region.

How will the training be?

The program offers a comprehensive approach that combines theoretical training with the opportunity to gain practical experience in developing a climate resilience strategy for your own business.

  • September 2-5, daily from 10:00 to 12:30, online

A series of educational webinars with Ukrainian and German experts. Participants will learn how climate affects the plant business, learn to assess risks and find tools for adaptation. Opportunities for development will be presented, and how to ethically "package" your ecological transformation without resorting to greenwashing will be discussed.

  • September 17-19, Lviv, live

During the three-day workshop in Lviv, participants will begin creating their own climate resilience strategy. In addition, they will have study visits to farms in the Lviv region and communication with practicing entrepreneurs who will share their honest experience of successfully transforming their businesses. The 12 most motivated participants will be selected for the workshop. The organizers will cover all costs associated with participation.

  • September 20 – October 4, flexible schedule, online

At this stage, participants will have the opportunity for individual consultations with industry experts, which will help them refine and finalize their own business' climate resilience strategies.

  • October 11, 11:00-14:00, online

There will be a final pitching session, during which participants will be able to present their work. The most active participants will receive incentive gifts and the opportunity to promote their stories in the media.

The organizers are convinced that the program will inspire and motivate you to try something new, creating a community of like-minded women ready to share unique experiences, expand your network of contacts, and collaborate for common goals.
