Every year on October 16, the world celebrates World Restart a Heart Day - an event designed to remind people of how important it is to know simple actions that can save a person's life before medical help arrives.
On this occasion, a specialized training session was held at the Territorial Center for Social Services (Provision of Social Services) of the Chuguiv City Council, which was conducted by specialists from the Emergency Medical Care Department.
The employees of the Territorial Center provide assistance to the most vulnerable categories of the population every day: the elderly and people with disabilities, who are at increased risk of sudden emergencies. That is why the ability to provide home medical care is vital for every social worker.
Under the guidance of experienced doctors, the participants examined in detail the algorithm of actions in case of sudden cardiac arrest, in particular:
- assessment of the safety of the scene;
- determining signs of life and immediately calling emergency services;
- practical training in the technique of indirect heart massage and artificial respiration (CPR).
Participants of the event had the opportunity to practice their skills on special mannequins, and also received useful recommendations on actions in the first critical minutes after cardiac arrest. Doctors emphasized that timely heart massage can increase a person's chances of survival by 2-3 times.
The administration of the Territorial Center expresses sincere gratitude to the specialists of the Emergency Medical Care Department for their professionalism, meaningful training, and practical assistance. Such joint activities increase the level of safety and readiness of the team for effective action in crisis situations.
