We are using all resources to support and develop veteran business in the Kharkiv region,» – Oleg Synegubov

Participants in hostilities and their family members have the opportunity to take advantage of state grant programs to create and develop their own business. Within the framework of the "eWork" program, defenders are entitled to receive a grant of up to 1 million hryvnia, the head of the Kharkiv OVA reported.

«"We pay special attention to supporting our defenders, veterans, and their family members. The development of veteran business remains an important component. This has a positive impact on the process of integration into civilian life, employment of combatants, and strengthens the economic climate in the region. We promote the implementation of state programs and grant support that allow veterans to start their own business or expand an existing business. On the basis of the "Dialogue between Government and Business" platform, we regularly communicate with entrepreneurs to expand existing programs to support veteran businesses and resolve problematic issues. We continue to comprehensively support veterans of the War for Independence of Ukraine," said Oleg Synegubov, head of the Kharkiv OVA.

Timur Esvanzhia has been a participant in the War for Independence of Ukraine since 2024. Last year, the man applied for a "Veteran Grant" through the "Diya" portal and later received 500 thousand hryvnias to open his own grooming salon.

«"We wanted to cut our dog Mars and encountered a high demand for such services in Kharkiv. The idea of opening our own salon appeared spontaneously. First, we studied this niche, compared the competition, developed a business plan and calculated everything. Already in December 2025, we received a grant. With this money, we managed to rent a room, make repairs, and purchase all the necessary equipment - from tools and shampoos to a special table and bathroom. The rest of the money was invested in advertising. Currently, we have two groomers working for us. Now we are increasing the pace of work and have regular clients," said Timur Esvanzhia.

«"Grant support is very useful, because after completing military service you already have your own business, work and earnings. In addition, grant funds are returned to the state in the form of taxes. I can advise my fellow citizens to study the field of their future business in detail and calculate all the risks. Specialists of the regional employment center provide all the necessary consultations on preparing documents and a business plan," added Timur Esvanzhia.
