Comprehensive medical care for veterans has become more accessible - there is no longer a need to contact different institutions. Preventive examinations, screenings, consultations, and medication prescriptions - all of this can be obtained from one family doctor.
All these services are included in the packages of the National Health Service of Ukraine. However, veterans are often simply unaware of these opportunities. Therefore, to encourage doctors to better contact defenders and provide them with comprehensive assistance, the Ministry of Veterans Affairs provides family doctors with double reimbursement of the cost of these services.
To take advantage of the expanded services, veterans simply need to inform their doctor about their UBD status and provide documents confirming their identity and status. After that, the family doctor will arrange all the necessary services within the NHSU package - at no additional charge to the patient.
The information campaign “Opportunities for Veterans” is being implemented within the framework of a partnership between the Ministry of Veterans Affairs and the Veterans Reintegration Program, which is implemented by IREX with the support of the US Department of State.
