Since the regional center of the National Resistance began operating, more than 2.5 thousand residents of the Kharkiv region have received training at its base.

This was stated by the head of the Regional Center for Training Citizens for National Resistance, Valeriy Kolyanda, and the center's instructor, Yuriy Kononov, during a briefing at the official media center of the KHOVA.

Since the Center was established in December 2023, 33 communities of Kharkiv region, including those under occupation, have been trained for national resistance. To date, 2,568 citizens have completed the training: 1,012 in 2024, 1,395 in 2025, and 161 in the first quarter of 2026. Currently, about 400 citizens in the Bogodukhov, Berestyn, Lozovsky, Kharkiv, and Chuhuyiv districts are currently receiving training at the five district branches of the Center.

«"Today, national resistance is not a formality, but a real element of the state's defense capability. We see a high demand from people and are systematically developing training in the region: we are expanding the network of branches, improving the material and technical base, and involving residents of communities in training, in particular from deoccupied territories and internally displaced persons. We are grateful to the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration for its support," said Valeriy Kolyanda.

Training is carried out in 48- and 108-hour programs. Training takes place once a week and covers key disciplines: shooting and tactical training, first aid, mine safety, the basics of national resistance, and other subjects with a practical focus.

«"After the service, I decided to pass on my knowledge to people, because I understand how important it is. Kharkiv residents come motivated, study diligently, and we see the results of this work," said Yuriy Kononov, an instructor at the Center.

Within the framework of veteran policy, the Kharkiv Regional Center for National Resistance employs 24 veterans, 20 of whom work as instructors. They do a great job of military-patriotic education of citizens and give them many practical skills necessary for survival in wartime. That is why the Center calls on other citizens to join the national resistance, who can undergo training free of charge at a time convenient for them.
