On March 7, 2025, the Government of Ukraine adopted a resolution approving the procedure and conditions for providing a subvention from the state budget to local budgets for the payment of monetary compensation for housing.
This initiative is aimed at providing housing to war veterans with disabilities of groups I-II who were injured, contusions or diseases during hostilities, the ATO/JFO and the containment of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation, as well as family members of the fallen Heroes who are on the housing register.
To be included in the list of compensation recipients, it is necessary to contact the executive committee of the local council at the place of residence. According to the terms of the resolution, the need for monetary compensation for housing is submitted to the Ministry of Veterans Affairs as of April 1, 2025.
In 2025, almost 4 billion UAH has been allocated for the payment of housing compensation for war veterans and families of fallen Heroes. This will allow thousands of Defenders of Ukraine, as well as their families, to receive funds for their own housing.
We will remind you that in 2024, the state allocated UAH 395 million for the Kharkiv region to provide housing for 163 people, including veterans with disabilities of groups I–II - participants in hostilities on the territory of other states and family members of such persons who died, Defenders of Ukraine with disabilities as a result of the war of groups I–II, family members of the deceased, internally displaced persons who defended the independence of Ukraine.
