On October 14, Ukraine celebrated the 83rd anniversary of the UPA. On that day, high school students from our community attended an educational event: «UPA – the Army of the Unconquered,» which was timed to coincide with the day of the UPA’s formation and was prepared by teachers from the Klugino-Bashkir Lyceum.
Students received information and participated in a discussion about the struggle of the UPA, which became a unique phenomenon in the history of Ukraine. The Ukrainian Insurgent Army fought simultaneously against three enemies who did not recognize the right of Ukrainians to self-determination: Germany, the Soviet regime, and Polish formations.
The participants of the event, together with the employees of the Public Library, reviewed the announcement of Andriy Kokotyukha's book "Red", the main character of which became a symbol of the struggle for Ukrainian culture, traditions, and identity.
