On August 5, the implementation of a joint project of two charitable organizations - the Ukrainian "12 Watchmen" and the German Tiernothilfe - to vaccinate and sterilize homeless cats and dogs began in Chuhuiv.
The problem of stray animals, one of the most painful in the Chuguiv community, was especially aggravated during the war, as many owners simply abandoned their former pets to their fate. Therefore, the community leadership is in every way supporting the work of volunteers, whose contacts were provided to the community by the deputy head of the Kharkiv Regional Council, Valeria Dzyuba. After receiving the animal rights activists' consent in principle to work in Chuguiv, they were resettled on the territory of the community free of charge, and the city council helped find a suitable premises for working with animals.
In the first two days, the project representatives have already caught more than a hundred stray animals and are currently undergoing vaccination and sterilization operations. If you see a stray animal in the city with a similar «earring» in its ear (in the photo), this will mean that the animal has already been sterilized and vaccinated.
In Chuhuiv, volunteers plan to work until the weekend, so residents can apply for the capture and sterilization of stray animals by calling the Department of Housing, Communal Services and Ecology of the Chuhuiv City Council: 0971721317.
