The tragic news of the Hero's death came on September 12 - on this day Serhiy Shandula died in a hospital in the city of Kharkiv.
Private Shandula Sergey Anatolyevich served as a rifleman - service number 3 of the 1st assault detachment of the 1st assault platoon of the 1st assault company of military unit A4599. The soldier's life was cut short in the prime of his life - in October of this year he would have turned forty, but it was not destined to happen...
Serhiy Shandula was buried with military honors on the Alley of Memory in Chuguiv. Now he will be eternally guarded by heaven, and a blue-and-yellow flag will fly over his grave.
