On March 13, 2026, the Chuhuiv community said goodbye to the fallen Defender of Ukraine - Junior Sergeant Oleksandr Volodymyrovych Molchanov, a serviceman of the 23rd Separate Mechanized Brigade.
Oleksandr Molchanov stood up for Ukraine in the most difficult time for the state. Performing combat missions on one of the hottest front lines, he and his comrades defended the Ukrainian land from the Russian aggressor.
In December 2023, in the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders restrained powerful offensive actions of the enemy, who did not abandon attempts to surround Avdiivka. On December 27, 2023, while repelling another attack near the settlement of Ocheretinye, Pokrovsky district, Donetsk region, Oleksandr Molchanov, together with his comrades, was in combat positions. As a result of powerful enemy shelling, the servicemen received severe explosive injuries incompatible with life. Due to the difficulty of identifying the bodies of the deceased, a forensic medical examination was ordered. In this regard, Oleksandr's mother received a notification that her son was considered missing. For 26 long months, she lived in hope, waited and believed that her son was alive. However, on March 5, 2026, a notification was received in her name, confirming: Oleksandr Molchanov died on December 27, 2023 while performing a combat mission related to the defense of the Motherland, near the settlement of Ocheretyne.
On March 13, 2026, the community saw off the soldier on his final journey. Oleksandr Molchanov was buried in the city of Chuguiv on the Alley of Memory with full military honors.
The bright memory of the courageous warrior will forever remain in the hearts of his fellow countrymen.
