On August 8, an unknown explosive device exploded in the village of Doslidnoe, Chkalivska community, Chuguiv district, probably a PFM-1 "Petal" mine. A 49-year-old man was injured. According to preliminary information, the detonation of the ammunition occurred while mowing the grass. The victim was hospitalized with facial injuries.
We appeal to citizens to strictly observe mine safety measures. Do not visit cemeteries, forests, forest belts, fields, river floodplains and other open spaces, especially those where fighting took place or which were under enemy occupation. These territories are heavily contaminated with explosives, unexploded ordnance, anti-personnel and anti-tank mines.
MINE PFM-1 "Petal" - an extremely dangerous anti-personnel mine of pressure action. Designed to damage the lower leg. It can be green or olive, which makes it very difficult to detect. To activate it, it is enough to apply a small amount of force - from a few kilograms.
This is an explosive object that is not removed, but destroyed by sappers at the site of discovery. That is why it is necessary to be as attentive and careful as possible and not to neglect safety rules.
We remind you:
- If you find any suspicious or unknown objects, please call 101 or 102 immediately.
- Do not approach such objects, do not touch them, or attempt to move them.
It is especially important to tell children about safety rules in case of discovering dangerous objects.
Following safety rules can save lives!
