
Born on March 28, 1996 in Chuguev, Kharkiv region.
From 2002 to 2011, he studied at the Klugino-Bashkyrivska school. In 2015, he graduated from the Chuguevo-Babchansky Forestry Vocational College with a degree in auto mechanics. In 2018, he graduated from P. Vasylenko Kharkiv University with a degree in mechanical engineering.
Before being drafted into the Armed Forces of Ukraine, he lived in the city of Chuguiv.

Since April 2016, he has been serving under a contract as an assistant grenade launcher shooter in the 92nd separate mechanized brigade. From the first days of service, he participated in combat operations in the ATO zone in eastern Ukraine (Marinka, Avdiivka). As the Kharkiv Regional Military Commissar Yuriy Kalgushkin said: "Senior soldier German Brodnikov with the call sign "Fritz" went to the front in April 2016.".

Sister: Degtyareva Lidia Nikolaevna, lives in the city of Chuguev.
Circumstances of death:
Died on November 7, 2019 at around 12:20 on the southwestern outskirts of Avdiivka (near the Butivka mine).

That day, the combined engineering department of one of the mechanized battalions of the 92nd separate mechanized brigade was carrying out the task of providing its unit with roundwood for the engineering equipment of the positions. And at the moment when the fighters were unloading the wood, the enemy fired two shots from an anti-tank missile system in broad daylight. One of the missiles hit the Ural car, near which the fighters were working. Senior soldier German Brodnikov died on the spot.

His portrait is placed on the memorial "Wall of Memory of Those Who Fell for Ukraine" in Kyiv: section 11, row 4, seat 14.
By Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 50/2020 of February 11, 2020, "for personal courage and selfless actions shown in the defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine," he was awarded the Order "For Courage" of the 3rd degree (posthumously).

By order of the head of the military-civil administration of the city of Avdiivka, Donetsk region No. 63 dated March 20, 2020, Herman was awarded the medal "For the Defense of Avdiivka" (posthumously).
