Due to constant missile strikes and drone attacks on the territory of Ukraine, it is important to act correctly if debris or unexploded ordnance is detected.
Please note that any debris or fragments of enemy equipment are important evidence of war crimes and help investigate the crimes of the aggressor. Therefore, law enforcement agencies must record and investigate them.
What to do if you find debris from a missile, drone, or other weapon?
- Immediately report the find to the relevant services: State Emergency Service - 101, police - 102.
- Do not approach the find, do not touch it! This can be dangerous.
- Warn other people about the danger and, if possible, fence off the area where the find was found so that no one can enter.
- Wait for the specialists to take the necessary actions.
What can't you do?
- Do not take the debris with you or move it - this may hinder the investigation.
- Do not take photos or publish these materials on social media or in the media! The enemy is monitoring these photos and may use them to adjust future strikes.
- Do not hand over debris or parts of debris to anyone other than emergency services.
Why is this important?
Debris may contain dangerous explosives that pose a threat to life.
Law enforcement officers use this evidence to record the aggressor's crimes.
Publishing photos on the Internet can help the enemy adjust subsequent attacks.
Be responsible! Your attentiveness will help save lives and contribute to the investigation of war crimes.
