Born on October 11, 1984 in the city of Chuguiv. From grades 1 to 9 he studied at comprehensive school No. 1 of grades I-III. After graduating from school, in 2003, he studied at Chuguiv vocational school No. 53, where he received a driver's specialty.
In 2003, he was called up for military service and sent to the 39th training detachment of the Ukrainian Naval Forces in the city of Sevastopol. Later, Serhiy continued his service in the 6th separate coastal missile and artillery brigade (military unit A1814) as a telephone operator, and then as the commander of the telephone department of the ZAZ.
After completing his military service, in January 2006, he signed a contract with military unit A0501 and served under a contract as an electrician driver until the end of the same year. After being released to the reserve, he worked in his specialty in private companies.
In 2015, through the Chuguyiv Military Commissariat, he signed a contract with the 92nd Separate Mechanized Brigade. After graduating from the training unit, Serhiy continued his service in the brigade as a senior BMP driver. During 2015-2019, he participated in the ATO and JFO in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. After the contract expired, in 2019 he resigned and worked in private companies.
On 10.09.2023, Serhiy was mobilized by the Chuguiv RTCC and SP and sent to the training center in Desna. From there, he was sent to study in England. After completing his training on 01.01.2024, he was sent to the 49th separate assault battalion «Karpatska Sich» named after Oleg Kutsyn (military unit A 4599). He served as a rifleman - service number 3 of the assault detachment of the 1st assault platoon of the 1st assault company of the military unit.

Father: Shandula Anatoly Grigorovich, mother: Shandula Olga Vasylivna; brothers: Shandula Igor Serhiyovych, Shandula Demyan Serhiyovych and sister: Gapon Iryna Anatolyivna. All live in the city of Chuguiv. He was divorced, has a daughter, Daryna, born in 2009, who lives in the village of Malinovka.
Circumstances of death:
On 07/09/2024, while performing a combat mission as part of a unit near the settlement of New York, Bakhmut district, Serhiy was seriously wounded. On the same day, he was taken to the KNP "City Clinical Hospital No. 13" of the city of Kharkiv. Doctors fought for his life for more than two months. But on September 12, 2024, tragic news of Serhiy's death was received by his relatives. Serhiy Shandula was buried on September 16, 2024 with military honors on the Alley of Memory in the city of Chuguiv.
