A ceremony of presenting a state award to the family of the deceased soldier Dmytro Yeremenko took place in Chuguiv. For personal courage, selfless performance of military duty and loyalty to the oath, the Defender was awarded the Order "For Courage" of the 3rd degree (posthumously) by the Decree of the President of Ukraine. The award was presented to the relatives of the fallen defender by the Deputy Head of the Chuguiv City Military Administration Igor Shepelev and the Deputy Head of the Chuguiv RTCC and SP Volodymyr Fedotov.
Dmytro Yeremenko was born on October 12, 2001 in the city of Chuguiv. He studied at secondary school No. 1, and later graduated from Chuguiv vocational school No. 53. In October 2020, Dmytro signed a contract and began military service in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
He met the full-scale Russian invasion as part of the 44th separate artillery brigade named after Hetman Danylo Apostol, where he performed the duties of a mechanic-driver-electrician. In January 2025, the soldier was transferred to the 503rd separate battalion of the marines. As a senior rifleman-operator of the marines, Dmitry performed combat missions in the Pokrovsky direction.
On April 17, 2025, the life of a defender was cut short in the Donetsk region. Dmytro Yeremenko died defending the independence and freedom of Ukraine. The Hero was buried on April 23, 2025 in his native Chuhuiv on the Alley of Memory.
The awarding of the order was a sign of deep respect and gratitude of the state to the family of the fallen soldier. The memory of Dmytro Eremenko will forever remain in the hearts of his fellow countrymen.
