According to the Kharkiv Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, during 6 months of 2026, 4,509 water samples were tested for sanitary and chemical indicators from sources and centralized water supply networks that provide drinking water to the population of the Kharkiv region and the city of Kharkiv, of which 160 samples (3.5%) did not meet hygienic requirements. The largest proportion of samples with deviations from the standards was found in the water of the centralized water supply of Bezlyudivska, Vysochanska, Merefyanska, Malodanylivska, Solonytsivska, Rohanska territorial communities (TG) of the Kharkiv district, Shevchenkivska TG of the Kupyansky district, Sakhnovshchyna, Starovirivska TG of the Berestyn district, Lozivska, Oleksiivska and Blyznyukivska TG of the Loziv district, Starosaltivska, Pechenizka and Prolisnenska TG of the Chuhuyiv district.
In the tested water samples, exceedances of the normative values were recorded for turbidity, color, total hardness, oxidation, dry residue content, iron, sulfates, nitrates, ammonia, polyphosphates, chlorides, fluorine, sodium, and silicon.
5,192 water samples were examined for microbiological indicators, of which 84 samples (1.6%) did not meet the requirements for epidemic safety of drinking water.
The highest percentage of samples with deviations from the normative indicators was registered in the Kharkiv district (Malodanylivska, Bezlyudivska, Pisochynska, Rohanska, Pivdenomiska, Vysochanska TG), Izyum district (Kunievska, Barvinkivska, Donetska TG), Chuhuivska district (Malynivska, Starosaltivska TG), Berestynska district (Kegychivska TG), Lozov district (Blyznyukivska TG).
177 water samples from centralized water supply networks were examined for parasitological indicators; all samples met regulatory requirements.
From the water distribution network in Kharkiv, 613 water samples were tested for sanitary and chemical indicators, of which 9 samples (1.5%) did not meet regulatory requirements. Exceeding the standards was observed for indicators of color, turbidity, oxidation, total hardness, sulfates, iron, ammonia, dry residue and chloroform.
623 samples were examined for microbiological indicators, of which 29 (4.7%) did not meet the standards of epidemic safety. In the territory of Kharkiv, water samples with deviations from the regulatory requirements for epidemiological safety indicators were taken mainly from street water dispensers on dead-end sections of water supply networks.
No complications of the sanitary and epidemiological situation, outbreaks of infectious diseases related to drinking water and drinking water supply have been registered in the region.
