The US government, as part of the AGRI-Ukraine initiative, will provide free mineral fertilizers for field work in the 2024-2025 season for over 3,300 Ukrainian agricultural producers from frontline and de-occupied regions.
A total of 6.6 thousand tons of fertilizers will be transferred to Ukrainian agricultural producers through the USAID AGRO Program. Each approved participant will be able to receive up to 2 tons of urea fertilizer.
Registration for assistance will take place in the State Agrarian Register (GIFT), in the “Available Programs” section. Program name: “USAID AGRO_carbamide for grain and oilseed crops in the 2024-25 season for regions affected by military actions.”
Applications will be accepted from June 11 to 25, 2024, or until the amount of assistance is exhausted.
Agricultural producers who:
- have from 5 to 500 hectares under cultivation in Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhia, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, Chernihiv regions (except for temporarily occupied territories),
- grow grain or oilseed crops,
- registered as legal entities or individual entrepreneurs, in particular, family farms.
Approved applicants cultivating 5 to 25 hectares of land (owned and leased) will receive one ton of fertilizer. Those cultivating 25 to 500 hectares will receive two tons. The aid is expected to be used for grain and oilseed crops for the 2025 harvest.
The fertilizer distribution program is part of the broader activities of the USAID AGRO Program within the AGRI-Ukraine Initiative. In December 2023 - January 2024, the USAID AGRO Program provided mineral fertilizers for spring sowing to more than 7,680 agricultural producers from all over Ukraine. In total, during 2023 - early 2024, through the USAID AGRI-Ukraine Initiative, the USAID AGRO Program provided fertilizers to more than 14 thousand Ukrainian agricultural producers. This assistance provided resources for field work on an area of more than 460 thousand hectares. and allowed to grow at least 2 million tons of grain.
