In order to prevent rabies in domestic animals, specialists of the Chuhuiv District Veterinary Medicine Department of the Kharkiv Regional State Hospital of Veterinary Medicine will conduct preventive vaccinations of dogs and cats against rabies in the city of Chuhuiv on April 10, 12 and 15, 2024 at the address: Oleksandra Zachepyla St., 15, tel. 2-21-16. Working hours: Mon-Thu from 8:00 to 16:45, Fri from 8:00 to 15:45, Sat-Sun - weekends.
Preventive vaccination will protect the animal from rabies infection for 1 year.
We emphasize! Rabies is an extremely dangerous infectious disease common to humans and animals, accompanied by severe damage to the central nervous system and always ends in death.
To prevent rabies in animals, all pets must be vaccinated annually, starting at 3 months of age.
Remember: rabies cannot be cured, it can only be prevented! The most effective way is vaccination!
The rabies vaccine is free, the cost of the preventive vaccination service is 11.05 UAH.

Signs of rabies in animals are very diverse. The most characteristic are salivation, fear of water, aggressiveness, paralysis, but sometimes they may be absent.
In dogs and cats, rabies occurs in two forms: violent і quiet.
Sick exuberant form the animal becomes aggressive, hides in corners, often changes its place of residence, runs away from home, gnaws inedible objects. The voice disappears. The dog becomes irritable, refuses food and water, does not respond to the call, does not obey the owner. Its tail and lower jaw droop, saliva is abundantly secreted, and gait becomes unsteady. The animal is able to silently, without barking, pounce on oncoming people and bite them.
The most dangerous other form of rabies is quiet. The main signs of the disease may be weakly expressed.
