Fire hazard is in the spotlight

During the war, the Chuhuiv community, like most others in Ukraine, has enough problems caused by hostilities. And now another one has been added to them, not directly related to them, but quite annoying. The dry and windy weather that has set in recently leads to fires in ecosystems, or, to put it simply, in forests and fields. So far, God has mercy on the Chuhuiv community - we have not recorded any large fires like our neighbors, but the city authorities are still actively preparing to counteract them.

At the meeting of the city commission on technogenic and ecological safety and emergencies, which was held by the deputy head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Igor Shepelev, the issue of combating possible fires in ecosystems was discussed. In particular, the heads of municipal enterprises reported on the readiness of places for water intake in reservoirs, as well as on the condition of fire hydrants in Chuguiv and Kochetok. Decisions were made to accelerate work on repairing inoperative hydrants and create a reserve of fuel and lubricants for special equipment in case of fire extinguishing.

Summing up the meeting of the KTEB and the National Emergency Committee, Igor Shepelev reminded its participants of the need to actively inform the community population about the undesirability of visiting forests, reservoirs, and fields this summer, when hostilities are ongoing and the weather remains fire-hazardous.
