Servicemen who voluntarily left a military unit for the first time may return to service under a simplified algorithm without criminal liability until March 1, 2025. This applies to those who completed the voluntary discharge before November 29, 2024. Lawyers from the free legal aid system (FLA) will tell you more about how to do this.

Who can return to service under a simplified procedure?

Military personnel who have voluntarily left a military unit or place of service for the first time or have deserted.

Except for those who did so after November 29, 2024.

When military personnel need to return to duty

No later than March 1, 2025.

How to do it

Submit a report: in person to the military unit or online through the Army+ application, along with a letter of recommendation from the unit that needs the soldier.

When will cash payments resume?

No later than 72 hours from the date of arrival at the military unit or place of service.

How to return to service for military personnel who performed military service after November 29, 2024

You must go through a general procedure that includes:

  • obtaining written consent from the commander of the unit that the serviceman left voluntarily, or from the reserve battalion where the serviceman will be sent for the period of re-enlistment
  • conducting an investigation into criminal proceedings
  • a decision by a court, based on a motion by a prosecutor, on whether or not to release a military person from liability.

After that, they start reinstating you in the service.
