The Chuguiv region police urge citizens to be attentive and cautious, as new cases of fraud continue to be recorded in the region. Criminals use various fraud schemes to obtain citizens' personal data or force them to transfer funds on their own.

Among the latest appeals are statements from residents of various settlements of the district who became victims of telephone and Internet fraud. Thus, the 45-year-old applicant reported that an unknown person called him, introducing himself as a bank employee. After following the instructions of the fraudster, the man discovered that 41 thousand hryvnias had disappeared from his account.

Another case occurred with a 30-year-old man. He wanted to buy a car online. The man contacted the "seller" using the number provided in the ad. The stranger promised to bring the car he liked from another region and asked to pay for certain services. The man agreed and transferred the specified amount of money. After transferring the funds, the "seller" did not contact him again. Thus, the man lost almost 9 thousand hryvnias.

In the city of Chugui, a 40-year-old woman wanted to buy something. On the Internet, she saw an ad for the sale of a product that interested her. During communication with a stranger, the woman agreed to make an advance payment for the desired item. After fulfilling the conditions of the pseudo-seller, she transferred one thousand hryvnias to the proposed card. Immediately after that, the victim lost contact with the "seller" and has not received the product to date.

For each of the facts, the police have opened criminal proceedings under Article 190 (fraud) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The police urge citizens to be vigilant: do not give out their banking or personal details to anyone, do not trust suspicious messages in messengers, do not click on dubious links and always verify information through official sources. In case of suspicion of fraud, you should immediately contact the police.
