With the onset of the warm season, the number of two-wheeled vehicles on the roads increases - scooters, mopeds, bicycles and electric scooters. At the same time, law enforcement officers record cases of driving such vehicles by minors who do not have the appropriate age, necessary skills and driving license.
Such actions pose a real threat to road safety and can lead to traffic accidents, personal injury, and property damage.
Driving without protective equipment, violating traffic rules, and driving on the road without proper experience are particularly dangerous.
According to current legislation, improper fulfillment of parental duties is subject to administrative liability under Article 184 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses.
Police are appealing to parents:
- not allow children under the established age to drive vehicles;
- explain traffic rules;
- monitor children's leisure activities;
- ensure the use of personal protective equipment.
By purchasing a motor vehicle for a child who does not have the legal right to drive, parents are putting them at risk.
Law enforcement officers emphasize that responsible behavior by adults is an important condition for preventing traffic accidents involving minors.
