Police warn Ukrainians about new scam schemes amid energy supply problems

In the face of the difficult situation with heat and electricity supply, fraudsters are becoming more active and inventing new schemes. In particular, attackers are spreading messages about non-existent social benefits in order to gain access to bank details and steal funds.

How do scammers operate?

They create fake messages about «state» or «international» aid;

They add links to phishing sites that imitate official resources;

They ask you to enter personal data or bank card details;

They use the information they receive to steal funds.

How to protect yourself?

Do not click on suspicious links from messages in instant messengers, social networks, or SMS;

Do not enter personal data and payment information on unknown sites;

Check information about social benefits only on official resources of government bodies (they have the domain gov.ua);

Do not spread unverified messages, even if they were sent by acquaintances.

If you did click on the link, contact the police - at the nearest police station, by calling 112, or leave a request on the Cyberpolice website.

Be careful and don't let yourself be fooled!
