A new bright event took place at the University of the Third Age of the Territorial Center for Social Services (Provision of Social Services) of the Chuguiv City Council. On Wednesday, October 29, active students of this year's course and invited wards of the day care department got acquainted with the work of an interesting, talented person, poet-humorist Yaroslav Zhykhovich.

His widow, Nina Yakivna, told those present about the biographical stages and creativity of the literary artist.

Yaroslav Yosypovych was born in Ivano-Frankivsk region, in the village of Pidgorodya, Rohatyn district. He studied at the Civil Engineering Institute of Zaporizhzhia, which, by the way, he graduated with honors. It was there that Nina and Yaroslav met. By order of the couple, they moved to the city of Chuhuiv.

The literary artist's work was quite significant for our city. As the head of a construction site, he supervised the creation of such famous objects as the Malinovskaya School and the Chuguyiv department store.

But it was in our wonderful city that Yaroslav Zhykhovych's poetic talent truly revealed itself.

The author loved to read Ukrainian books; in the words of Nina Yakovlevna, in one store he «snatched them all up». And he himself created genuine, capacious, poetic satirical works. Zhykhovich’s humorous stories reflect labor, everyday and family relationships, distortions of modern reality. But they are all benign, expressed with good-natured humor.

Nina Yakovlevna herself recited her husband's selected works from the collection "Baba's Porridge", reading them clearly, from the heart, and by heart.

Among the invited guests was Tamara Bulaeva, a student of the Territorial Center and a poet from Chuguyiv, who also showed her poems to those present.

All participants of the event sincerely thanked Nina Yakovna Zhykhovych for the frankness and brightness of her speech. In turn, an active participant of the University, Lyubov Nikolayenko, gratefully read the artist's poem from the small collection "Spivomovka".

The event ended on a high positive note, with thunderous applause and wishes for new interesting meetings.
