Honorary Veteran of Ukraine, well-known public figure in Chuhuiv, Ivan Dmytrovych Dykun, passed away

The Chuguiv City Council announces with deep sadness that Honored Veteran of Ukraine, public figure Ivan Dmytrovych Dykun, died at the age of 82 due to a serious illness. He dedicated his entire life to serving the Motherland, was a man of word and deed, active, and concerned about the problems of other people.

Ivan Dmytrovych was known in Chuguiv primarily as the head of the Chuguiv city organization of veterans, a fighter for the rights and interests of veterans of various categories, a national boxing judge, a history and social studies teacher at one of the city's schools, a deputy of the city council of three convocations, as well as a military man, head of the primary veteran organization of the 75th Guards Tank Division.

Ivan Dmytrovych Dykun received the title of "Honorary Veteran of Ukraine" in 2010 for his active work as the head of the Chuguiv City Organization of Veterans of Ukraine. He headed the City Council of Veterans for many years, starting in 2002. At that time, it included 14 primary veteran organizations, 5 veteran choirs, 5 interest clubs, and the organization's Book of Honor was created, which summarized information about the city's honored veterans.

Ivan Dmytrovych Dykun made a huge contribution to the formation and development of the veteran movement in the city of Chuguiv, had many awards for active professional and public activities. Each award was very valuable to him, but he always considered the main award for himself to be the opportunity to help people solve their problems.

Ivan Dmytrovych Dykun was a patriot of his land, followed the path of service to the people, and was always concerned about the fate of the city and his country.

The Chuguiv City Council expresses its deep condolences to all who knew, respected and honored Ivan Dmytrovych Dykun. Eternal and bright memory!
