The Ministry of Social Policy has increased the maximum prices for highly functional lower limb prostheses for military personnel participating in hostilities. This decision came into effect in accordance with the order No. 464-n dated October 11, 2024. This is important for supporting military personnel who received amputations while defending the state. After all, it provides the opportunity to provide highly functional prostheses with electronic knee modules from leading world manufacturers, such as Otto Bock, Ossur, Proteor, Blatchford and others free of charge under the state prosthetics program.
According to the order, prices will be increased for:
- modular hip prosthesis with electronically controlled knee assembly (from UAH 1.2 million to UAH 1.7 million);
- prosthesis after hip joint amputation of modular type with electronically controlled knee assembly (from 1.4 million UAH to over 2.0 million UAH).
Calculations of increased marginal prices are based on a detailed analysis of the calculations of prosthetic companies that cooperate with the state program for providing highly functional prostheses.
We would like to remind you that the other day the Government adopted a decision by which simplified procedure for replacing the receiving sleeve (stub receiver) . From now on, if the cost of replacing the receiving sleeve does not exceed 15% of the cost of the prosthesis, the decision on replacement is made only by the commission of the prosthetic and orthopedic enterprise. In addition, for servicemen with amputation stumps, the referral for providing rehabilitation aids will be lifelong (except for electric wheelchairs and electric scooters).
