Previously, internally displaced persons (who received the status before February 24, 2022), Ukrainians abroad, and in temporarily occupied territories had a separate algorithm for receiving pensions. Now, the same payment conditions apply to everyone, regardless of their place of residence.

What has changed — lawyers of the BPD system tell us

What has changed:

  • You can receive a pension on the card of any bank (previously only Oschadbank)
  • citizens living abroad or in the TOT must undergo physical identification once a year (every year by December 31)
  • Pensioners on TOT must make at least one financial transaction on their account every 6 months, if they did not undergo physical identification during these six months.

Conditions for pension payment for those who live in the TOT or have left it

Pensions are paid to citizens living in the TOT or who have left the TOT provided that they did not receive a pension from the Russian Federation.

How to confirm?

Submit a free application to the Pension Fund of Ukraine (PFU) regarding non-receipt of a pension from the Russian Federation

How to pass physical identification

Offline, if you are in Ukraine in the controlled territory and have the opportunity to apply in person. Or online, if you are abroad or on the TOT.

You need to have with you:

  • passport of a citizen of Ukraine or foreign
  • a card to which the pension is paid or documents about an open bank account
  • pension certificate
  • if you are the legal representative of a pensioner, in addition to one of the types of passports, you must provide a notarized power of attorney, according to which you can receive payments instead of the pensioner
  • if a child receives the pension - the child's birth certificate.

If you fail identification

No pension will be accrued.

To resume payments, you must pass identification within a year. In this case, pension payments will be resumed from the date of its termination.

What to do if pension payments have been stopped

Write an application to the PFU for the resumption of payments and undergo physical identification.

How to apply:

  • in person at any service center
  • via the PFU electronic services web portal
  • by mail or electronic application.

If a person is abroad, you can send a written application to the PFU with a certificate confirming the fact that the individual is alive. You can obtain it at the diplomatic mission of Ukraine (consulate) in the country of residence.
