The attackers offered a resident of the Chuguiv district to earn money by giving "likes" and buying virtual goods cheaply with her own money on a well-known Internet site, in order to then receive "earnings" for it.

On December 18, a 25-year-old resident of Chuguiv district contacted the police to report that she had been scammed. A few days ago, the woman was interested in an offer in a messenger, which talked about the opportunity to quickly earn money online.

After clicking on the link in the messenger, the woman began to perform the tasks of the «manager». For the first few completed tasks, the applicant did indeed receive a certain amount of money on her card. This convinced her that «the business is profitable», and the woman decided to invest more in order to receive large profits.

The applicant then transferred a total of almost 6,000 hryvnias to several unknown accounts. After the «manager» offered the woman to transfer 20,000 hryvnias, she realized that she had been scammed and turned to the police for help.

The police opened criminal proceedings under Article 190 (fraud) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine on this fact.

The police urge citizens not to trust tempting online ads about "easy money": giving "likes" and buying virtual goods, "watching videos and earning money", etc. Be critical of any offers of instant profit. Never follow the instructions of strangers who encourage you to transfer funds under the pretext of quick money.
