Arranged a workplace for a person with a disability - receive compensation

The State Employment Service reimburses employers for the costs of arranging and reasonably adapting the workplace of an employed person with a disability.

The employer who employed the person:

  • with the first disability group and equipped a workplace for her, is entitled to monetary compensation in the amount of up to 106.5 thousand UAH (15 minimum wages);
  • with the second group of disability - up to 71 thousand UAH (10 minimum salaries).

The relevant norm has been in effect since the end of August 2023, when the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated August 22, 2023, No. 893 "Some Issues of Providing Employers with Compensation for Actual Costs for the Arrangement of Workplaces for Employed Persons with Disabilities" came into force.

Compensation is provided, in particular, for the purchase of furniture and accessories for workplaces; computers and office equipment; software; handrails and bars; machines for the production and processing of commercial goods; aids for protecting health and safety at work; aids for reproducing sounds, for drawing and writing, etc.

After employing a person with a disability and arranging a workplace for them, the employer may, within 90 days, submit an application, in paper or electronic form, for reimbursement of expenses to the employment center at the place of business.

The employer who has equipped such a workplace has the opportunity to receive compensation by submitting an application through the Diya portal.

The main goal of this government program is to encourage employers to employ people with disabilities and, at the same time, to assist such citizens in their return to active employment.

Accessibility is ensuring equal rights and opportunities for all people. This is an environment where there are no restrictions, in which everyone is comfortable. It is in the creation of such an environment that the state employment service contributes. Ensuring equal access to economic independence for people is the main goal of an inclusive economy, which society strives to build.
