Over the past 24 hours, rescuers and firefighters from local fire brigades in the Kharkiv region have been deployed 18 times to extinguish dry fires. Of these, 4 fires were caused by enemy shelling, the rest were the result of human negligence or deliberate arson. The result was more than 10 hectares of scorched land and a 76-year-old woman was injured.
In times of war, fires in ecosystems are a double danger:
- unexploded ordnance can detonate due to high temperature;
- Every rescue mission becomes a risk to their lives.
Don't turn firefighting into a death trap!
We urge every resident of the region:
• avoid burning leaves and plant residues,
• follow fire safety rules,
• remember about fines, but most importantly, about responsibility.
Take care of the ecosystems of the Kharkiv region - this is our future!
