The implementation of the national program "Health Screening 40+" is underway in the region. This government initiative, introduced in January 2026, is aimed at early detection of cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, as well as monitoring the mental health of the population, said Olena Logvynova, Deputy Head of the Kharkiv OVA.
«"Currently, examinations under the "Health Screening 40+" program can be taken at more than 85 service locations in both municipal and private medical facilities in the Kharkiv region. As of today, more than 2.5 thousand residents of the region have already taken advantage of the screening. The examination is organized as accessible and comfortable as possible for patients," said Olena Logvynova.
Cardiovascular diseases still cause over 60% premature deaths in Ukraine, and a significant part of patients with diabetes mellitus do not even suspect their diagnosis for a long time. In addition, over 72% Ukrainians experienced anxiety, depression or other mental disorders during the year.
«"That is why such screenings are a powerful tool for early detection of pathologies. Thanks to state support, every resident of the region has the opportunity to take care of themselves in a timely manner, and this service is free of charge for the patient. I urge residents of the Kharkiv region not to postpone caring about their own well-being for later and to undergo an examination. This is a simple but crucial step towards preserving health and quality of life," added Olena Logvynova.
The state finances the diagnostics: after submitting an application, each registered participant receives 2,000 hryvnias to pay for medical services. The "Health Screening 40+" complex includes: physical examination; anamnestic survey; basic laboratory tests.
You can sign up for the examination by phone, online, or directly at the reception of your chosen healthcare facility. If there are free places, you can undergo screening on the day of your application.
