On May 1, employees of the Chuhuyiv District Department of the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region recorded the occurrence of a fire of dry vegetation in an open area in one of the settlements of the Chuhuyiv District.
During the operational response, rescuers established that the cause of the fire was the deliberate burning of dry grass by a local resident. Due to her actions, the fire spread over a significant area, posing a threat to nearby residential buildings and outbuildings. Thanks to timely intervention, the fire was extinguished without casualties or serious consequences.
An administrative report was drawn up against the arsonist under Article 175 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses – «Violation of the established procedure for the use of open fire.» The woman faces administrative penalties in the form of a fine.
Rescuers of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine call on citizens to strictly follow fire safety rules and not to resort to burning dry vegetation. Such actions not only violate the law, but also pose a danger to people, animals, and the environment.
