Last week, rescuers in the Kharkiv region extinguished 405 fires in natural ecosystems, 22 of which were forest fires.

The fire destroyed 530 hectares of dry vegetation and coniferous litter. One person was injured as a result of these fires.

Вогнем знищено 530 га сухої рослинності та хвойної підстилки. Внаслідок цих пожеж постраждала 1 людина.

30 fires were caused by Russian invaders with their shelling, burning more than 131 hectares of Ukrainian land. The rest of the fires in ecosystems were caused by ordinary citizens, ignoring fire safety rules.

The Kharkiv region still experiences an extraordinary level of fire danger, which contributes to fires in natural ecosystems. Just one unextinguished match under such conditions can cause a large-scale fire in a forest massif, fields, destroy private homes and even lead to the death of people.

Instead of eliminating the consequences of the Russian military aggression and rescuing people, emergency responders are forced to go out to extinguish fires with dry firewood. In particular, in the deoccupied territories, such fires can lead to the detonation of ammunition, engineering mines, or improvised explosive devices that did not explode.

We urge the public not to provoke fires in the country's natural ecosystems! Be responsible!
