
Born on March 25, 1981 in the village of Kruglyakivka, Kupyansk district, Kharkiv region. In 1996, he graduated from the Kruglyakivka Lyceum, and then received a carpenter's degree from the Kupyansk Vocational School. He served his military service in the city of Kupyansk. After being released from the reserve, he worked as part of a well drilling team in the Kupyansk district.


Since 2014, Serhiy has lived in the city of Chuguiv and in the same year joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine under a contract. He served as part of the 92nd separate mechanized brigade as a senior rifleman of the mechanized detachment of the mechanized platoon of the mechanized company of the mechanized battalion. In the fall of 2021, he was discharged upon the expiration of his contract.

On the very first day of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation, he voluntarily joined his brothers from the 92nd Separate Mechanized Brigade and, together with them, defended the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and took direct part in the measures necessary to ensure the defense of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region.


Marital status:
Parents died.
He has two brothers who live outside the Kharkiv region.
Wife: Lyashenko Lyudmila Serhiivna, lives in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
Stepdaughter: Alina Mykolaivna Mikhova, born in 2014, lives with her mother.
Circumstances of death:
On September 7, 2022, during the liberation of the Kharkiv region from the occupiers, he received explosive injuries during the battle, from which he died on the spot.
Buried on September 13, 2022 in the city of Kharkiv, cemetery No. 18 (Gagarin Avenue, 362).

In accordance with the Decree of the President of Ukraine «On Awarding State Awards of Ukraine» No. 447/2022 of June 26, 2022, for personal courage and selfless actions shown in protecting the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and loyalty to the military oath, Senior Private LYASHENKO Serhiy Yuriyovych was awarded the medal «For Military Service to Ukraine».
In accordance with the Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 759/2022 dated November 9, 2022 "On Awarding State Awards of Ukraine", for personal courage and selfless actions shown in protecting the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, loyalty to the military oath, Senior Private LYASHENKO Serhiy Yuriyovych was posthumously awarded the Order "For Courage" of the 3rd degree.
