Born on March 14, 1996 in the village of Bagata, Krasnograd (Berestyn) district, Kharkiv region (in Cherneshchyna) in a large family. He studied at the Lyubotyn comprehensive school in the Kharkiv region. He was left without parents early, and therefore was forced to live and study in several other educational institutions, including the Kochetotsk sanatorium school of the Kharkiv regional council.
Later, he studied at the Mariupol school, but did not graduate, as he was drafted for military service in 2016. Later, he continued his service under a contract.
He served as a senior operator of the anti-aircraft artillery platoon of the anti-aircraft self-propelled artillery battery of the anti-aircraft missile and artillery division of the 36th separate marine brigade named after Rear Admiral Mykhailo Bilinsky (military unit A 2802).
Volodymyr is survived by two brothers, three sisters, a wife, and a daughter.
Circumstances of death:
On February 24, 2022, the soldiers of the unit where Volodymyr Grigoriev served were met in Mariupol, where they took up battle with the occupiers. The soldiers held the city's defense for 56 days. Volodymyr Grigoriev, having shown resilience and courage, heroically died while performing combat missions on March 28, 2022.
Volodymyr Grigoriev was buried in the Mariupol area. The exact place of burial is unknown. According to the Extract from the Civil Registry of Citizens on the State Registration of Death, the place of death is listed in the city of Mariupol.
