The head of the Chuguiv city military administration officially signed a tripartite partnership agreement with the municipalities of Nordhorn (Germany) and Coowarden (Netherlands). The document was concluded during the German-Ukrainian Conference on Municipal Partnerships, although active cooperation between the communities has been ongoing since last year.
The cities of Nordhorn and Coevorden have long-standing friendly ties, as they are located nearby and have shared traditions of partnership. Now the Chuguiv community has joined this alliance, opening up new opportunities for exchange of experiences and cultural dialogue.
In 2024, 20 children from the Chuguiv community rested in Nordhorn and visited Coowarden, where a rich educational program awaited them.
In addition, a solidarity concert in support of Chuguev was held in Nordhorn late last year. The event was attended by German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, and this is a symbolic gesture of deep support for the Ukrainian people that cannot be overestimated.
With the funds raised during the concert, Nordhorn sent humanitarian aid to Chuguev, which included two cars used today by our municipal enterprises and tools for emergency repair crews.
– Our cooperation continues: in July, another group of children from the Chuguiv community – among them students who have achieved high academic results, as well as children from the families of our Defenders – will go to Nordhorn for a vacation and cultural exchange. The children will also visit the city of Coowarden, – wrote Galina Minaeva in her Telegram channel. – I am sincerely grateful to the Mayor of Nordhorn, Thomas BERLING, and the Mayor of Coevorden, Renze BERGSMA, for their initiative, warm welcome, and constant support for Ukraine in difficult times. Special thanks to the people of Germany for the sincere solidarity, responsiveness, and assistance that we experience at every stage of our cooperation. Together, we are building a future based on trust, mutual respect, and shared values.
