Various events and activities dedicated to the anniversary of our famous compatriot are underway in the city. At the same time, the monument to the artist, created by sculptor Matviy Manizer, located on Gvardiyska Street, has also undergone significant changes.
Let us recall that in the fall of 2023, in order to preserve the monument during military operations, it was covered in a protective structure made of Kevlar. And although this strong armor, on the one hand, reliably protects the monument from destruction, on the other hand, it completely hid the monument, which has long become one of Chuguev's most famous business cards.
On the eve of the 180th anniversary of the artist's birth, it was decided to transfer the original image of the monument, which, by the way, is a local landmark, onto the protective plates, and thus improve the visual perception of the cultural heritage object in the urban environment. This task was masterfully completed by the Chuguiev artist, member of the Chuguiev Creative Association of Artists, Alexander Shapovalov.
