

April 26, 2026 marks the 40th anniversary of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant accident, which became the largest nuclear power disaster in history and a national tragedy for Ukraine.
On the anniversary of the tragedy at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, the branch library for youth presents a warning exhibition «Chernobyl – a challenge not mastered by humanity.» The exhibition presents documents that tell about the terrible spring night of April 26, 1986 – the accident at the 4th power unit of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, and about the feat of our compatriots who courageously fought against the formidable forces of the atom.
We must not, we have no right to forget their sacrifice, and for 40 years now we have been expressing sincere words of gratitude and paying tribute to all the liquidators of the terrible accident.
Library visitors are invited to familiarize themselves with the materials of the book exhibition and remember one of the most terrible events in the history of our country.
