As part of the cooperation between the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine, in the new year, parents will be able to receive information materials about the updated Calendar of Preventive Vaccinations along with the Baby Package. They will be added to the new batch, which will be collected in 2026. This will help to immediately navigate at what age vaccinations are necessary and which vaccines are used.

It is in the first months of a child's life that parents make key decisions about their health. The information materials were specially developed by specialists from the Ministry of Health and UNICEF with the support of GAVI, based on a preliminary survey of parents and guardians, which helped determine what information is needed.

The developed information materials are designed to simplify access to verified information about vaccination against infectious diseases that can be prevented through vaccination; help to learn about the vaccination schedule and plan doctor visits in advance. This approach helps reduce anxiety, prevent misinformation, and make vaccination a conscious and timely choice.

We remind you that vaccination of infants begins even before discharge from the maternity hospital. In particular, according to the updated schedule, vaccination against tuberculosis (BCG) is carried out 24 hours after birth. This will allow the mother and child to be discharged home earlier if the health of both allows it and there is no longer a need to stay in the medical facility.

Next vaccination: first dose of inactivated polio vaccine and combined vaccine against viral hepatitis B, pertussis, diphtheria, tetanus, Hib infection at 2 months, and subsequent ones at 4 months, 6 months and 18 months. At 1 and 4 years — vaccination against measles, mumps and rubella (MMR).

Vaccination remains the most effective method of preventing infectious diseases, and parents' awareness is the key to the health of their children.
