On July 19, 2024, Lieutenant Colonel Oleksiy Serhiyovych Grechka died as a result of serious injuries. Yesterday, July 22, the soldier was buried on the Alley of Memory in Chuhuiv.
Lieutenant Colonel Oleksiy Serhiyovych Grechka devoted his entire life to service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He is originally from Cherkasy region: he was born on September 4, 1977 in the village of Skybyn, Zhashkiv district, Cherkasy region. He graduated from school in his native village and then entered the Kharkiv Military University, which he graduated in 1999. After studying, he served in the National Guard of Ukraine for a year. Since 2000, he served in the 92nd Brigade (military unit A0501): he went from the chief of communications - platoon commander of military unit A0501 to the commander of the anti-aircraft missile and artillery division of military unit A0501 of the OK "East" of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He lived with his family in Chuguiv.
