COAT OF ARMS AND FLAG OF THE CITY OF CHUGUEV

ГЕРБ ТА ПРАПОР МІСТА ЧУГУЄВА

The coat of arms of Chuguev has more than 260 years of history.
On March 14, 1752, the Chuguiv Regiment received a white flag with the image of the coat of arms. The design of the coat of arms was developed by the Heraldry Office for regimental flags. It had a look that differed from the modern one – the shield was oval in a special figured frame, crowned with the royal crown.

The Chuguiv coat of arms, known to us as the so-called "French" shield, received its familiar form later, during the administrative-territorial reform aimed at strengthening the local government apparatus. It was officially approved on September 21, 1781 (order No. 15238) together with the coats of arms of Kharkiv - the provincial center of the governorship - and the coats of arms of 15 county towns.

The colors and images on the coat of arms mean the following: gold in the upper field is a symbol of wealth, justice, generosity. The Chuguiv land was fertile and fertile. And this land had to be defended with weapons in hand. This is evidenced by two crossed sabers.
The red color in the middle field is a symbol of courage and courage. The Chuguiv Cossacks, who were distinguished by their courage in battles with the enemy, were called Chuguivtsy-"udaltsy". Three inverted crescents tell us that the Chuguivtsy repeatedly defeated both the Turks and the Tatars.
The silver in the lower field is a symbol of purity of thoughts and innocence. The image of a vine with leaves and a bunch of grapes on the coat of arms is reminiscent of the Chuguiv vineyards.

The flag of Chuguev is a crimson cloth in a ratio of 2:1, in the center is the city's coat of arms (in a ratio of 1:4 to the size of the flag)

During the independence of Ukraine, the Coat of Arms and Flag of Chuguiv were approved by the decision of the XI session of the Chuguiv City Council of the XII convocation on July 20, 1995. And on August 10, 1995, on the day of the celebration of the City Day, a ceremony of consecration of these symbols was held on Lenin Square.

Community anthem – «Chuguyiv Waltz»

And the verse:

Tell me, do you know the city?,
Which one towers over the Donets River?
More than once, it has risen from the ruins
In the harsh embrace of centuries.

Tell me, do you know the city?,
Where the great Repin grew up
And with a brush that is simple and at the same time wonderful
He gave masterpieces to all of us.

Chorus:

My hometown, my Chuguev, my family is here.
My hometown, my Chuguev, I am happy here.
Everything revolves in the rhythm of the waltz, the moments are magical.
May my handsome man bloom and flourish every year.
Second verse:

Tell me, do you know the city?,
Which I have loved since childhood,
What I am frankly and sincerely
I appreciate it and make it better.

Tell me, do you know the city?,
Where do astronauts launch?
And the memory of him in a burning heart
They are taken to star trek.

Chorus
