For reference:
Rabies is an extremely dangerous infectious disease common to humans and animals, accompanied by severe damage to the central nervous system, accompanied by convulsions, spasms of the pharyngeal and respiratory muscles, and always ends in death.
Wild animals are more likely to get rabies: wolves, foxes, raccoons, badgers, bears, squirrels, etc. They can infect pets and people through bites or saliva.
The causative agent of rabies is a specific virus contained in the saliva of a sick animal. When bitten, the virus enters the wound along with the saliva. It is very dangerous for the saliva of a sick animal to get on the mucous membranes of the eyes, mouth, nose, as well as on the skin, where there may be damage invisible to the naked eye.
Stray dogs and cats are a particular danger. Pets can become infected from each other and from wild animals.
In recent years, foxes have become the most common source of the spread of the disease.
