
The State Audit Service of Ukraine and its territorial divisions constantly exercise control over the conduct of public procurement. This control takes the form of monitoring and verification of procurements that are currently underway or have already been actually carried out.
The Northeastern Office of the State Audit Service monitored 200 public procurement procedures and 2 procurement inspections for a total amount of over 2 billion hryvnias in the first quarter of 2024. As a result of 129 monitorings, violations in procurement for an amount of over 1.3 billion hryvnias were identified.
Based on the results of monitoring conducted on 21 procurement procedures, auditors prevented illegal spending of budget funds totaling over 271 million hryvnias.
Based on the conclusions drawn up by the auditors on the results of procurement monitoring, 14 concluded contracts worth 187 million hryvnias were terminated and the results of 7 procurements worth 83 million hryvnias were canceled.
For violating public procurement legislation, the North-Eastern Office of the State Audit Service brought 10 officials to administrative responsibility and imposed fines totaling 36 thousand hryvnias.
Also, at the request of the Office, 9 people were brought to disciplinary responsibility and 1 person was dismissed from his position.
Control over procurement and the use of budget funds is very important. It should prevent their inefficient use due to unjustified decisions and actions of customers.
