Recently, remnants of cluster munitions were discovered in one of the forestry branches of the Chuguevo-Babchansky Forestry Administration. The dangerous object was encountered by forestry workers who were laying mineralized strips. While inspecting the area where fire protection strips were to be cut, the foresters noticed a suspicious object. Fortunately, the ammunition had already been used and none of the workers were injured.

The forest areas of this branch were among the first to be shelled by the Russians, and some forestry areas were partially occupied in 2022. Fighting was carried out on an area of 17,871 hectares. Currently, 21,632 hectares of forest remain potentially contaminated with explosives, making it impossible to conduct economic activities there.

The Slobozhansk Forest Office of the State Enterprise "Forests of Ukraine" reminds that due to the mine danger and until the end of martial law, civilians are prohibited from visiting forest areas. Take care of yourself!
