The theme of Poetry Week 2024 is HOME. The slogan is a line from a poem by contemporary Ukrainian poet Irina Shuvalova – «Rivers invariably flow home.» The visual part uses a fragment of one of the paintings from the cycle «Dreams of Home» by the warrior, poet, and artist Valery Puzik.
The concept of «home» for every Ukrainian man and woman has acquired a poignant and even sacred meaning. Home for us is now about returning and waiting, about unconditional faith in those who fight for this home. Home is a light that warms, even when you are separated by thousands of kilometers. Home is a feeling of being part of something bigger, part of a family. Home is Ukraine.
«"National Reading Week. Poetry Week" will be the first of four planned by the Institute this year. More information about the course of the poetry reading week on the Institute's website.
The organizers ask you to join the Action of Educators: plan various events (for example, discussions of poetic works, poetry readings, quizzes, reading clubs, meetings with local poets, etc.) and inform the Institute by filling out the short form. If the form is filled out correctly, the Institute will provide information support for individual events. Anyone can also participate in the Action (16.03 -24.03.24). You need to post a post / series of posts (text messages, photos and videos) on a relevant topic on social networks, for example, publish your favorite poems (poem collections) about home, information about the events held, etc., and call on your own audience to join the Action, share their reading poetic preferences related to the theme of the poetry week. The organizers ask to use thematic hashtags #poetryweek2024 and visual materials specially created for the event: information materials about the Promotion.
